Worcester Model Boat Club

Worcester Model Boat Club, was founded in 2016.  The plan was always to form a group for everyone, where everybody had a voice. A group where everyone is welcomed and encouraged, regardless of age or ability.  This ethos has worked extremely well, our membership has literally rocketed since inception.  We now have members of all ages from 8 to 80, all enjoying what WMBC is about.  Poolside the smiles, laughter and banter are the order of the day.  Lots of help and advice on tap.  Members relish their time poolside,  many say their time at the club is the highlight of their week.

We have grown rapidly since inception, yet never forgetting our core values, a club for everyone! In 2019 (on only our second ever visit) we proudly scooped the highly regarded 1st prize at the International Model Boat Show. One amazing club!!

We have an amazing group of members, who make WMBC the huge success it is. We are very fortunate to have many families and different generations included in our membership.  Our junior membership is rapidly increasing, these youngsters we nurture and encourage, this after all is the future of the hobby. Our ladies are equally as active and appreciated, our ladies even at times putting the rest of us to shame with their modelling prowess. The genuine family atmosphere and inclusion of all is a real asset of WMBC.

We have a truly outstanding venue, which would be hard to beat.  Cob House Country Park, Wichenford we are very proud to call our home. Set in the stunning Worcestershire Countryside, we really are so very fortunate,   At Cob House we have our very own pond which WMBC has sole access to, our pond overlooks the superb Mayfly cafe (wonderful food) which all members relish.  We also have excellent car parking facilities with toilets within easy reach. Our pond features a bespoke launching platform which provides excellent and safe access to the stunning pond. We also have a rescue launch on site ensuring we can always rescue stricken vessels.

Cob House is an extremely popular venue for families, tourists and locals, who love the amenities and animals (well worth a visit).  We now have quite a following, who come up to watch WMBC do their thing.

We put on displays throughout the year, our displays are highly regarded. Members relish the opportunity to take part. We boast many outstanding vessels in our club and when WMBC put on a display it's certainly one to remember. With everything WMBC everyone is welcome and encouraged. We visit many of the large model exhibitions and shows. Our club is run by its members for its members.

WMBC a club for everyone, no big ego's, a club where everyone has a voice and enjoys the hobby, after all that's what it's all about, having fun!
